ABOUT YOUR HOSTS:
Brittany is the Senior Editor of Children’s Resources at the United Methodist Publishing House. Her vocation in life is to spread the Love of God to all of God's children. She strives to provide every child with a safe, loving, inclusive, and open environment to grow and learn, through and with God. Brittany believes her purpose is to minister to children through compassion and love. Originally from Oklahoma and Texas, Brittany has lived in Nashville for five years and is thrilled to now call it home. She holds an MA in Christian Education from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary and last year published Deep Blue Bible Storybook. She ranks the loves of her life in the following order: her husband Michael, her dogs Charlie and Lily, and coffee.
Michael is a writer, educator, and facilitator. He understands his vocation to be facilitating transformative encounters through authentic storytelling. Michael founded and curates Tenx9 Nashville, a Belfast-originated monthly community storytelling night where 9 people have up to ten minutes each to tell a real story from their lives. He is also a Master Practitioner with Narrative 4, a non-profit working globally to build empathy through the exchanging of true personal stories. Michael has done peace work in Israel-Palestine, studied conflict resolution and reconciliation in Belfast, and volunteered as a chaplain in a maximum security prison. He is adjunct faculty at Lipscomb University and the author of two books. Beyond trying to build bridges between people, Michael also loves ping pong with a passion second only to the love he has for his wife Brittany. One of his happy places is on the couch with Brittany and their two terriers watching Netflix with a bowl of banana peanut butter ice cream in his hand.
